Deep Space Nine Wedding Vows

In case you don't know, Deep Space Nine is a space station in one of the Star Trek series. The wedding vows below are from the marriage of Worf and Ezri Dax.

Worf, played by Michael Dorn, is the first Klingon warrior to serve in the Federation Starfleet. His assignment on Deep Space Nine is to act as an emissary to the Klingons on behalf of the Federation.

Ezri Dax, played by Nicole deBoer, is a recent member of Deep Space Nine. Ezri has inherited the memories of all the previous Dax characters, so she's kind of the amalgamation of nine different characters, each with their own distinct memories.

To make a long story short, Worf and Dax fall in love. They have bachelor and bachelorette parties and go through a lot of the same grief some of us regualr folks do about planning a wedding and family acceptance of your spouse.

On the big day, they exchange these wedding vows:

Worf, does your heart beat only for this woman?

Response--Yes.

And will you swear to join with her and stand with her against all who would oppose you?

Response--I swear.

Dax, does your heart beat only for this man?

Response--Yes.

And will you swear to join with him and stand with him against all who would oppose you?

Response--I swear.
